Stand-Up Paddle Board and Kayaking on Big Bear Lake, Among Other Activities

Updated: Jun 9, 2024

It's finally summer and our plans for fun on the lake are already in full swing. This week we purchased season passes for our Stand-Up Paddle board (SUP) and kayak so that we can enjoy some water sport fun on Big Bear Lake this year. Our kids are finally at the age where they can safely enjoy it.

The season permit fee came out to $120 which isn't bad considering a two-day pass for both craft are about the same price. The SUP and 2-seater kayak were purchased at Costco for really affordable prices. They both are inflatable and easy to carry no matter the size of your vehicle. Deflation was super easy as well. I saw a few other paddlers struggling to unload and load their craft while I was getting our boards unloaded and loaded much faster.

If you want to know more about lake activities follow the link to Big Bear Municipal Water District (bbmwd.com) for details. The online Mountain Water Dispatch is available to peruse. We keep one at the cabin for our guests. You can also get the physical copy at the office of both launch sites. It's full of great information.
